Most of the successful investment bankers in India are either finance professionals like CA, CS, CWA, etc or management graduates.
It would be recommended for you to register for a professional course like CA, CS, CWA, etc while doing graduation and complete it successfully. Thereafter, if time and budget permit, you may get yourself enrolled for management course with a reputed b-school which will help you to get an entry into investment banking sector.
Needless to mention, experience with reputed investment banks can help you to float your own outfit in future.
All the very best to you.

Hi Sagar,
To be honest dropping an year will not be a suitable option. However as a friend I would suggest you to enroll for BSc or any other diploma course in the branch of your choice and apply again for the engineering exam. In this way you will have a back up+knowledge+you will be associated with studies and will not deviate from your goal.
Also, I would request Dr.Goutam Chatterjee Prof Garain PhD Nikhlesh Mathur Kunwar Apoorva Singh Karan Barua87429 to share their expertise.
Thanks.
All The Best.!

Your query is too vague.
There are private institutes like IFBI, AIIM, TKW, etc which offer banking course for a duration of 4-6 months and their fees vary in the range of 30k - 90k. They are also offering placement assistance to successful students.
