Thanks @Aneeket Sir, I will second you for the suggestion of joining a coaching as there is no time for self preparation. And Nikit, CAT exam have two parts, 1 is Quantitative ability and 2nd is verval ability & logical reasoning. Both have equal weight-age in exam with 30 questions and 70 minute each.

It is commendable that you wish to enquire this at such an stage. The only way to make through IITs 5-6 years from now is to focus on only one thing: Keep your concepts clear at every level, especially, your 10th, 11th and 12th. An early start is always desirable. Keeping concepts clear means you must learn everything not merely for examination sake but instead try to gain an understanding how that happens. It takes a good amount of effort to balance the two things and that is what you need to learn.

Not clear with your requirement. However as per my understanding of your post, as a CFA, you should have very good Communciation skills, excellent command over English, analytical mind and ability to explain things to the directors and decision takers in the company.
