Yes, it is really worthy to do M.Tech in mechanical engineering as it is good for future career prospects.
But it is advisable to do some specialization with respect to the current trends and the future so that you would become one of the demanded mechanical engineers.
You can also appear for entrance exams like GATE, VITMEE and the other exams conducted by the top Institutes.

Hello Ritwik,
To get admission in IIT for computer science and engineering course, your AIR should be at least 2500 so that you may get a good IIT.
Since IIT-Bombay is considered to be the best IIT for computer science and engineering, your AIR should be below 500.
