If you have completed your Diploma, then you can definitely apply for the B.Tech course. The candidates are allowed to take direct admission into B.Tech after the Diploma. There is no exam is conducted for the Diploma holders to take admission for engineering. As far as I know, MBA is somewhat a higher and reputed degree which will open the door for lucrative jobs in the corporate world. Though the charm of MBA has not decreased, the management institutions are rampant especially in Cities. The point is that pursuing MBA has become easy than it was a decade ago. Only those who are in their final year of any graduation course or have already graduated can appear for the CAT. So, being in the second year, you cannot appear for CAT exam.
