There are a number of competitive exams for chemical engineering in India. One can choose according to one's interest. GATE Just after B.Tech one can appear in this exam for higher studies or PSU jobs. IFoS (Indian forest service) – Actually, it is non-technical exam, but in Mains exam one can choose chemical engineering subject as an optional paper. (Cut off for IFoS is quite high as compared to IAS in prelims, as they have common prelims). IES yes, it's engineering services. Any engineering graduate can appear for this but one have to choose a branch among four (mechanical, electrical, civil and electronic). I suggest, one can take mechanical paper as they have more common subjects (FM, HTO, and TD). BARC- One can get into it through GATE but BARC gives a chance through conducting a separate exam also. NRL- It is Numaligarh refinery limited. They have only one exam centre and that is Guwahati. Assam petroleum
Chennai petroleum corporation limited- Chennai is the only exam centre. BIS- This year exam was cancelled one day before exam and no any official notification for that exam. Pollution control board - Central and state (not regular)

CIL (not regular). VSSC
RFCL.
