MBA in HR is a good choice. Career prospects in HR are pretty good. In HR as the experience grows you earn more. The best past about HR is that you get to different processes and strategies of the companies. My Friend did part-time MBA in HR from Welingkar and is all praises about their infrastructure,teaching methods,etc.
When its comes to selection process, Welingkar selects students on their overall profile rather than standard test scores. The factors for eligibility are:
Combination of the student's past academic performance
Work experience
Performance in Group Discussion
Personal Interview
Psychometric Test
Design & Creativity test
However the criteria differs from course to course.

Govind, I am not sure how good you are with maths and programming. If you are, then you must pick up a language whether PHP/ HTML5 (web dev), .Net (for software dev) Java/ Android (for apps) or C#/ Unity (for games). However like i mentioned, you must be good with programming to move ahead in this area since you have to compete with MCAs and BTech(CS) applicants. So choose your internship/ industrial training very carefully. Do not just go for the cheapest to save money. See the IT company's credentials on the net. for example if someone provide LIVE PROJECTS are they there near the TOP on PORTALS like JUSTDIAL? Or if the company is registered with STPI (Software Technology Parks of India) - all good IT companies are lregistered with STPI. If a company spends money to market themselves to customers, only then they are able to get LIVE PROJECTS. Also, if you are an average programmer, and if you you're better with creative work, then you can head for web design or even vfx/ animation since there is a huge requirement coming up in that domain. If you work hard in a new subject you may be better placed to take up a career than passing out from just any college as today placements is a big issue with fresh engineers from average colleges.
