Well minimum academic criterion for XIME is to have more than 50% in your graduation and more than 60%ile in any national management entrance exam, this makes a candidate eligible for applying and then its up to your performance in GD and PI which determines your selection. From https://www.coursera.org/ you can learn courses related to Mass Communication and Management (Creative Writing, Public Speaking etc.).
What you can do is check the curriculum of any good college which offers Mass Communication (For example Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Coimbatore has Mass Com. Program and their curriculum is very good.)
Search for those topics in Course era and learn them.
Based on your knowledge, you can first work as a freelancer. Once you get some experience you will get a good job in reputed companies.
