Firstly, you should have 49% marks in your PCM and then you become eligible for engineering and later you have to take the form for CAP rounds. You have to take the form from government colleges and follow the steps and if you get a college in CAP rounds then you have to go there and confirm your seat and later you can also have the chances to wait for next CAP rounds too.

The counselling starts only after the results of JEE Advanced exams. It is expected to begin by the end of June or from the first week of July. It will be held in 6 rounds.

Usually to get branches above civil like mechanical, EEE, CSE the score as observed from previous years has to be at least 310 plus. But don't lose hope. Usually the cutoff marks increase every year but there was an announcement about rise in the number of seats this year in BITS.
