Well Sonia, I am not sure what careers are you viewing. A PG can help you in a teaching job, but otherwise it is quite a problem getting into a production job with a Masters since Masters in India are not practical oriented. So for production jobs you must take up a course. And there are more production jobs as compared to teaching jobs, so it's your take. A good mentor and wise selection of courses with a good school, followed by diligent learning, would get you a head start in your career. However, you must check your suitability for this field. Animation is an art form and a very demanding career. It has ample opportunities for the creatively talented people. Opportunities lie in UI Design, Graphic Design, Storyboarding, Animation Design, Game Design, 3D Modelling, Texturing and Lighting, Dynamics and VFX and of course animation (2D and 3D). Of course at the top of the pile lies Concept Designing - these people are required by Event Companies, Animation Studios, VFX Studios, and of course Game Studios. However, choosing between these must be done after seeing your performance in each of these. So going for a generic course covering all or most of these would be the best way to get started in these careers. First of all you have to clear CAT. First barrier is CAT, after that there will be GDPI rounds of various B-schools. You'll get calls from various B-schools depending upon your CAT percentile. Your communication skills matters a lot. So I would suggest you to start reading newspaper ( for GK & reading speed ), start reading books, start watching hollywood movies or TV series. They might help you in entertaining you as well, a good way to relax your mind after studying for long hours. Start speaking in English with your peers, try to speak 15-20 lines loudly from any piece ( be it newspaper or book ). Practice in front of mirror. Start practicing by taking part in mock GDs & PIs. The admission to the Diploma Engineering Courses is made through the Joint Entrance Test. Candidates who qualify the JET are eligible to apply for admission to various courses being run in the affiliated institutions of the Board. The admission to these institutions will be based on the relative merit of the candidates in the JET in their respective category. All candidates desirous of applying for admission are required to submit admission application form with the requisite fee before the last date fixed for submission of the same.
