Yes, most of the students do follow this procedure. This will not only save your year but will also keep your continuity in studies. Most people has misconception that they can't give exam that particular year they are appearing their final year and they just waste their year in ignorance.
You can definitely appear for MBA entrance exams. There are lot of exams that you have like:
1. CAT.
2. MAT.
3. UPESMET.
4. GMAT (in case you want to go abroad).
5. XAT, etc.
CAT is one of the most preferred option for students but CAT being a little tough you should always keep MAT and CMAT, XAT, UPESMET handy in case you can't get through you can get through many good colleges through other scores.
UPESMET is also one of the best exam that students go for in case they can't get through UPES through their MAT score, UPES is the college for core sector studies like MBA in oil and gas, MBA in Aviation operations and lots more MBA courses are available with UPES. So, you can give that a shot too.

You must look at the entire field of media especially script writing, film making of digital arts. There are some very good diplomas in these, I can tell more about it if you like. There are several careers in media in writing, production or post production.
-You can become a reporter, actor or getting behind the camera to direct, cinematographer or do finishing work as an editor, compositor or a VFX artist who can add reality to 3D visualizations.
-You may even be a graphic artist who designs the screens, or an animator who brings stories to life as a proxy actor for onscreen characters. You can get into production, whether live or animated.
-You can be a story writer who writes for live and animated screens or even roll the story into a video/ PC game.
-You can be a script writer who would stop at nothing to give wonderful scene setups to bring the story to life.
-You could be an artist who designs characters or who storyboards the film for live or animated performance.
-You can also double up as a voice over artist who gives his/ her voice to the characters or dub for movie stars, or even be a radio star.
-You can alternatively look at web for a web of careers in web design, online marketing, search engine optimization, content writing, social media promoting. Any extra skill can be used in this.
So it turns out to be one of the most challenging as well as satisfying careers. Sure not recommended for the weak hearted.
Do remember that digital design careers (e.g. web design, graphics, UI design, animation, VFX, multimedia) give better profits since they can be delivered anywhere in the world and hence may earn in dollars, resulting in better rewards for designers.
Some people are passionate about acting, they must understand that acting cannot provide jobs since this is an assignment based industry and one must fit the role. So, it could be better to enter this industry after acquiring a technical skill.
