Should I opt for higher studies or pursue a job after completing Bachelor of Product Design and why?

Totally depends on whether you want to go for a job or opt for higher studies. If you really feel that you are ready to step into a new phase of life then go for job. But make sure that you are mentally prepared for the coming situations. I'm saying this because many people decide to do job after graduation and after working for a year or so they switch back to study Masters degree so as to get a better job with better salary package, which is a waste of time.

Hi, It depends on whether you want to study more or join a job after completing Bachelors in product designing. If you want to start something of you own in future or you want to go for private jobs only, then no one will ask you for a Master’s degree. It’s just a degree because in industry, industry experience is always more valuable than Master’s degree. Then there is no use of paying fee for Master's degree for another two years again. It would be better if you earn money on your own in those two years and also gain some experience, you will learn how designing is used in the real world because what you studied at college is totally different than what you do in industry. But I will suggest if you really have urge to study more or you want to do any government job in teaching field in future then you should go for a Masters. Whatever you choose to do, just make sure about your future plans first.

So it's better to decide in the first place whether to do a job or pursue higher studies. One more important thing is that if you are happy and satisfied with what you have achieved yet or not. This is the most basic question which will help you decide to move ahead. If you are satisfied with your studies and the degree you have achieved then move to job. If not and still want to study get admission for Masters. Also, people switch from job to studies so as to get better salary package. If you have completed your graduation from a college like NIFT then you won't need higher studies because these colleges welcome companies who recruit students offering them a good salary package. Whereas in other colleges after completing Masters, one gets a package equivalent to what some get after graduating from NIFT, NID, etc.Master’s degree or higher studies will not only give you a better job but will improve your CV, resume, etc.

Students of Product Design can seek employment in sectors such as consumer appliances, transport, retail and packaging. They can work as entrepreneurs or own their consultancy. Other careers like product designers which includes, equipment, furniture etc. designers, are also open. It is important that product design engineers be familiar with, and adhere to, their company's product standards and specifications, so that they may design quality products that represent the company brand. They must also keep trends and the needs of consumers in mind when designing products. Product design engineers may also be responsible for making improvements or updates to existing design and development standards. Professionals may also need to understand how their decisions affect product cost, performance, and quality. An average salary of INR 4.25 lacs/- per year is what you can expect to earn. Product Development and Engineering Design is something that can increase your salary.
