Should I start preparing for IELTS or do it after completing class 12th? I am in class 12th and want to pursue B.Tech from USA.

Your choice are good.so need work hard you start preparing for IELTS.
The strategies for preparation can differ from individual to individual. Ideally, 3 to 5 months is required. You can take a lot of practice test, which they are available online on IELTS and British Council website.
You should practice answering and finishing within the specified time limit. You can identify your weak areas and work on them.
