What are preparation strategies for the Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law exam organized by IIT Kharagpur?

Hi there, The entrance exam for Rajiv Gandhi school of IP includes a 200 marks paper with each question carrying 1 mark and there is no provision for negative marking. The question paper consists of subjects including English, logical reasoning, maths, Elementary science and legal aptitude. The legal aptitude has a weightage of 70 marks and English has 60 marks weightage which is the maximum out of other segments. Thus, the focus needs to be more on English and legal section for which you shall need good knowledge of English grammar and must have good hold on vocabulary. Also, legal aptitude can be made strong only with more and more practice of questions as the questions are not much advanced. So, you need to read more law and English to get success in the exam. Also, you can score full marks in maths and reasoning which would enhance your chances. Also, the maths and reasoning is not much advanced and can be easily done. So, focus needs to be more on legal and English section. Also, the choice of right literature and study material has a game to play here thus chose prescribed books by various coachings for the same. Apart from this, you must develop your own strategy suiting yourself.

Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law is the first renowned school by IIT Kharagpur that imparts legal education with IP specialisation within the IIT system. The programme is affiliated by Bar Council of India. It is one of the finest colleges in India. The students of this college are placed in top brands and moreover best companies are invited as recruiters every year. The course is a full-term 3 year residential program. The pattern of exam is as follows- Medium of examination- English Multiple Choice Questions Duration of exam- 2 Hours Marking Scheme- 1 Mark for each correct answer and no negative marking. Total Marks- 200 There are 5 sections of the paper- 1. English (60 Marks) 2. Logical Reasoning (20 Marks) 3. Mathematical ability (15 Marks) 4. Basic Science (35 Marks) 5. Legal Aptitude (70 Marks) The above pattern forms the basis for the marking scheme. The preparation strategies for the same should be to develop good reasoning skills and have a general knowledge about prevailing laws. Hello, Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law was formed in the campus of IIT Kharagpur in 2006. It was established in collaboration with George Washington Law School of USA. The school offers degree of LLB but the eligibility is either degree in engineering /medicine or PG in science. The syllabus is as per the guidelines prescribed by Bar Council of India.Intellectual Property Law or IPR as a subject of study has started rather late in India. Indian mind set was against any such law but finally Indian government has joined the world body and this caused sudden spurt in requirement if experts in this field and as a result different law schools started offering this course.Student desirous of joining has to clear an online test conducted by IIT K. It basically tests logical reasoning, English, general principles of science. Almost entire batch gets placement in predominantly MNCs that are operating in US or European environment.
