    Rushi, benefits are
    1. Since they can frame their own rules and regulations, most of the Autonomous Institutes try to follow the patterns followed in IITs and NITs (except their fee structures). This includes the quizzes, mid-sems, internal evaluations, etc. This helps in giving the students environment almost equivalent to best colleges, which sometimes do give quite unbelievable results.
    2. As we are aware of that they can make their own rules, students can ask for a change in rules (in some colleges and of course not applicable to fee) and sometimes college administrations feel happy to hear and do such changes.

    Well it all depends on the student who "studies." Most of the prospective students who join any college think first about the college's reputation and the placement prospects, I suggest you to look at colleges that has strong alumni backing and those that have maximum tie ups. DON'T choose a college just because it is an autonomous college or it is part of a bigger university. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.
