What are the major differences between Hospitality & Travel and Travel & Tourism courses?

<p>Hello, <strong>Hospitality, Tourism and Travel </strong>these are the three words and three areas which are really closely related. One is dependent on the other. These three perhaps cannot survive without each other. However, the combination used invariably is either<strong> "Hospitality and Travel"</strong> or <strong>"Travel and Tourism"</strong>. Thus it can be seen that Tourism is the common word or thread between these two sets. Tourism is a concept that needs to be understood and then everything else falls into place. For tourism to be successful, good hospitality and good travel arrangements are a must. Else the whole system may collapse.</p><p>Hospitality means arranging accommodation and food. Making it the most wonderful experience is what is striven by people manning Hospitality and Tourism. One complements the other. On the other hand, tourism involved travel and perhaps intense travel. Now, if the arrangements for travel are good then it turns out to be a good experience. Thus we can see that there is only a minor difference between these two concepts, the central theme being tourism.</p>

Those working in the hospitality industry work as hotel clerks, restaurant managers, bar managers, cruise ship representatives and dozens of other positions. A hospitality degree is a degree that prepares you for working in customer service and travel industries. Students take courses on food sanitation, food preparation, hotel management, ordering and human resources. Upon graduation, you will know how to take stock of inventories, schedule employees working underneath you and follow a strict budget. Tourism is a specific type of industry relating to travel. These degree programs look at how to make clients and customers feel more comfortable and satisfied while travelling. Many graduates work as representatives for major travel companies, but other graduates work as travel agents and tour guides. When looking for a new school, make sure that the program uses the latest software and programs used by guides and travel agents.

The Tourism and travel management involves a wide range of activities which begins from ticketing to guidance of tourists in popular attractions. This also involves the arrangement of comfortable stays and entertainment for the tourists. Hospitality management deals with the tourists accommodation needs in resorts, hotels, restaurants, and bars. In tourism management, you will learn about the marketing and managing of different tourist facilities including destinations like convention centers, resorts, theme parks , government tourism divisions, cruises, and even airlines whereas hospitality management is related to management of restaurants, travel agencies, hotels, and other institutions which deal with the hospitality industry. A hospitality manager has the task of handling staff, training employees, and setting standards and guidelines while a tourism manager does the tasks like marketing director, hotel manager, event planner, or even a researcher for the tourism department. Both these may resemble alike but they differ from each other in the above aspects.
