What are the pros and cons of dropping a year for the preparation of JEE Mains exam?

I scored 36 marks in JEE Mains exam and expecting to score 80 percent marks in class 12th.

    The good part of it would be that you will have more time to prepare and if you utilize it well then you can have higher marks and hence would get a more reputed college to study. You can even try for IIT's if not NIT's. You will also be able to enhance your knowledge level. The other side of the coin is that your batch mates of school would be a year ahead of you. Your graduation will get delayed by an year. And if you do not utilize your time well then there is no guarantee that you will score more next year in the same exam.
