Gaming has 2 major parts , 1 the art work ( CG assets ) & integration ( Coding & programming ) To join the game industry as a game artist , its ok if you know design principals, sketching , color theory and 3D CG asset creation ( which you can learn at any 3D animation institute ) 2nd part is integration , which involve programming & coding , if you are looking for a scope to get in to the gaming industry as a game programmer , then you need to learn the programming languages as well.

You need to start focusing on your designing skills. Graphics designing and sketch designing then color theory. Which will help you in understanding how to make powerful graphics. Second part is to learn programming languages. Then you need to choose any specific game engine of your choice. Unity and Unreal are few best game engines. Thanks
    Regards, Singahi Saifi.
