In order to become an IFS Officer, you must to be excel in the most prestigious exam on India I.e., UPSE Exam. There is no specific criteria that about the stream at graduation level. 12th standard candidates are not eligible for Indian Foreign Services Officer exam so first complete your graduation degree then you can apply for Indian Foreign Services Officer exam.
IFS stands for Indian Foreign Service exam. IFS exam is conducted by UPSC through civil service exam.

Well, there is no such requirement of streams for UPSC exams, it's just you need a Bachelor's degree at least to be deemed eligible.
However, if you want to become an IFS officer then, of course, Bachelors in Arts would be the best option which you can have.
Humanities include subjects such as history, political science, sociology and international relations to which you can have access during your graduation.

There is no such requirement of any specific stream after 12th for becoming a diplomat.
To become a diplomat one needs to qualify Union Public Service Commission examination and if the rank is good then one can choose IFS (Indian Foreign Services).
If your only aim is to crack civil services examination and join Indian Foreign Service you can take up any humanities subject like history, geography, public administration, political science, economics, sociology, philosophy, etc. in graduation and start preparing for the exam from the 1st year of your graduation.
