    Whether you have scored very good marks or not, it is completely at the discretion of the college to take admission under a university. You just need to qualify the eligibility and follow the admission process. Let's say, for a certain college under a university, if the admission is based on the merit score in 10+2, then marks would definitely take the main lead in fetching the seats for candidates.
