A score above 140 is considered to be a good score in GPAT according to the GPAT cutoff score for General category candidates. However, this score varies depending upon the GPAT cutoff for the current year. In case the cutoff touches the mark of 180 then the score of 140 is irrelevant to seek admission in top M.Pharma colleges. Candidates who will be shortlisted in the merit list will be called for further counselling procedure at the participating institutes. Therefore, the cutoff score is the most important deciding factor to get a call for counselling from preferred institute.

A good GPAT score depends on your category, competition level, and desired program. Generally, scoring above 350 is good, with 400+ for top colleges and toppers scoring even higher. Ultimately, your rank (AIR) matters most for admissions.

For MPharm, 15% of the total seats are filled by non-Delhi aspirants with a valid GPAT score. Rest 85% is filled by graduates passed out from Delhi colleges/ universities with a valid GPAT score.

No, GPAT scores are not compulsory to get admission into the MPharm course at Poona College of Pharmacy. Because the college also accepts relevant BV-PHARMPG scores. Therefore, candidates with scores in any of the entrance exams from these two can get admission into the MPharm course. Thus, GPAT is one of the accepted entrance exams for admission to the MPharm course. However, it is not compulsory.

The approximate subject-wise weightage in GPAT is as follows:

  • Pharmacology – 25–30 questions

  • Pharmaceutics – 20–25 questions

  • Pharmaceutical Chemistry – 15–20 questions

  • Pharmacognosy – 10–15 questions

Other subjects (Biochemistry, Microbiology, etc.) – 10–15 questions
This distribution may vary slightly year to year, but the core subjects consistently have the highest weightage.
