What is civil engineering?

A civil Enginner is concerned with the structures of buildings and bridges, their strengths, the amount of concrete and steel to be used etc. They are responsible for designing structures that can stand safely for many years resisting wind, storms and earthquakes.

Some of the career prospects are: A large number of Civil Engineers are recruited through Indian Engineering services, by UPSC A large number of civil engineers are recruited in various state departments After a little experience one can start his own consultancy RCC structural designer Steel structural designer. Bridge designer. Site Engineers. Construction planners and evaluators. I can enlist some universities for your help - Lovely Professional University, BITS Pilani Delhi College of Engineering VIT, Vellore PSG Technology Coimbatore National Institute of Engineering, Mysore etc. Which offers excellent learning atmosphere to its students. Few of these universities provides extensive learning programs and exposure to the students.
