    Data Science is about analyzing various forms of data using statistics and high level mathematics. Data analytics and data mining fall within this area. For a good definition you need to refer to Wikipedia as explaining it all here is not possible. Courses in Data Analytics and Business Analytics are generally taken by students interested in this area. Hope this helped.

    Data Science is a multidisciplinary blend of data inference, algorithm development, and technology in order to solve analytically complex problems. At the core is data. Troves of raw information, streaming in and stored in enterprise data warehouses. Much to learn by mining it. Advanced capabilities we can build with it. Data Science is ultimately about using this data in creative ways to generate business value.

    A Data Scientist is someone who is better at Statistics than any software Engineer and better at Software Engineering than any Statistician. They are responsible for discovering insights from massive amounts of structured and unstructured data to help shape or meet specific business needs and goals. The data scientist role in data analysis is becoming increasingly important as businesses rely more heavily on big data and data analytics to drive decision-making.
