Projectile motion in a plane refers to the movement of an object launched into the air, and moving under the influence of gravity along a parabolic trajectory. This projectile motion occurs in two dimensions with vertical and horizontal components acting separately. The vertical motion is affected by the gravitational acceleration and the horizontal motion remains uniform due to constant velocity. Projectile motion important factors include maximum height, time of flight and horizontal range. A few examples include- a kicked football, a thrown ball or water sprayed from a fountain.
