What is the difference between ECE and electronics and instrumentation branch?

But in detail, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering deals with Electrical technology and machines, circuit analysis, electronics, electromagnetism, electrical engineering materials, instrumentation etc while ECE consist of analog transmission, basic electronics, solid state devices, microprocessors, digital and analog communication, analog integrated circuits, manufacturing of electronic devices, circuits etc. BITS Goa and Hyderabad are both at par with each other with the aspect of these branches. In ECE branch you will be learning network theory, basic electronics, digital systems microprocessor, signal processing, analogue communication, digital communication, wireless communication. In EIE branch you will be learning all electronics subject common with ECE branch and the core subjects like industrial instrumentation, industrial automation control systems, process control. Though ECE is a very popular branch and more number of people joining in it, EIE also holds equal importance. If you are really interested in working with a manufacturing industries EIE is recommended there are many companies for instrumentation engineering in India. Scope is wider in ECE, EIE also has a good scope but you need to work hard to get into instrumentation core companies.
