Editing and transmitting the news. Mass communication deals with the procedure of conveying or transmitting a message to the general population through media like radio, newspapers, magazines, television, internet and so on. However, journalism is concerned with the compilation and transmission of news through the print media and electronic media. And based on the different mediums, the field of journalism can be divided into three broad categories namely the print (I. e. the newspapers and magazines), electronic (I. e. T. V. and radio) and online journalism. So based on your interests you could even choose for a course specific to one of these mediums. As for mass communication there are media fields such as that of theater, radio, T. V. , filmmaking, journalism, advertising, public relations and others. In short mass communication covers a broad area of media while journalism focuses only on news. One can have a degree in journalism and mass communication from a good college and can enter in this profession. LPU is an international university with top placements and world class infrastructure and faculty. LPU is offering various scholarships to students in this pandemic condition. And media Science is same as mass communication only the name is different. Here are some career options open to you as a mass comm graduate. Radio or TV Announcers Reporters PR Specialists Editors Journalists Writers and Authors When you have more experience you can start venturing into careers like Marketing Directors and Communications Directors. You can also consider other degree options like Advertising, Journalism, Health Communication and Public Relations which opens up another choice of careers.
