    Hi Joy,
Both Mass media and Mass Communication are different in its function but both are inter-dependent. In Layman's term, Mass communication is the information for the public / huge masses and Mass media is the channel through which this piece of information is spread across.

BMM and BMC both are degree courses about media and communication, but they not same.

BMM is more about media world – like newspaper, TV, radio, films and even digital. Students learn journalism, ads, PR and content making. After BMM, they can work in media jobs like reporter, ad creator or media planner.

BMC is more wide. It teach about communication in many ways, not only media. Students study how people talk in office, in public, in events and also in media. After BMC, they can work in media, PR, events, marketing or company communication jobs.

Well, both are quite similar and many subjects in all the semester are similar to each other. Only difference I found is in B. M. you get option to choose from advertising or journalism in last 2 semister will be depend on what you choose, if you choose journalism you will get subject accordingly and if you choose advertising then, it is specialisation in B. M. where in B.M.C. its not there. If you wanna become journalist you can choose B. M. but doing B.M.C. also you can be journalist.

The only difference is the syllabus. The courses typically for mass communication focus on mass communication, media research, development communication etc. Including journalism. But, B.J. MC syllabus covers all type of media including new media.

Yes, students from Arts, Commerce, and Science backgrounds can all apply for the BMC course. The eligibility criteria usually require completion of Class 12 from any recognised stream.

Since the course focuses on communication, creativity, and media knowledge, it does not restrict students based on their academic background. This flexibility makes BMC a popular choice for students from diverse educational streams who wish to build a media career.

Most colleges do not have a strict age limit for applying to the BMC course. The eligibility primarily focuses on completing Class 12 from a recognised board with minimum marks, usually 50%.

However, certain universities may specify age restrictions, typically between 17 to 25 years. Therefore, candidates are advised to check the official eligibility guidelines of their chosen institution before applying.
