What is the difference between UGC approved and DEC approved in case of IT courses? Does it affect placements?

UGC (University Grant Commission) is a government body MHRD which give approval to university and maintenance, coordination, regular see off to the affiliated university. UGC also provide funds to the college for their smooth running during all academic session.
DEC (Distance Education Council) is also a government-funded body run by UGC approved University IGNOU. This council was established only for the students who are unable to join a college for higher studies. For them, through this body, distance learning is possible. DEC give approval to colleges for distance learning.

No university in India has the right to be operational unless they get a valid certificate from UGC. UGC only gives a certificate to validate the university. Now, coming on to another one. DCE is Distance Education Council (under the MHRD). The University Grants Commission of India (UGC India) is a statutory body set up by the Indian Union government in accordance to the UGC Act 1956 under Ministry of Human Resource Development and is charged with coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of higher education. It provides recognition to universities in India, and disburses funds to such recognised universities and colleges.
