The GATE paper with codes - AR, CY, EY, GG, MA, PH, ST, XH, and XL have questions from the following-

    • 15% of the total marks will be distributed to the General Aptitude Section.
    • and 85% of the total marks will carry subject-specific questions.

For an incorrect answer in the MCQ section, there will be negative marking. For a one-mark question, 1/3 mark will be deducted and for a two-mark question, 2/3 mark will be deducted for the wrong answer. On the other hand, there is no negative marking for the numercial-based and multiple select questions. Also, there is no partial marking for the Multiple-Select questions.
