What is the maximum age limit for taking admission in B.Tech mechanical through lateral entry for a Diploma holder?

Hi Tirtha, you can get admission in B Tech mechanical through lateral entry if you fulfill the conditions. There is no age limit. However, in case of gap you need to submit an affidavit stating the reason of the gap. You will also get scholarship if you are eligible.

There is no age limit, however you have to satisfy the eligibility criteria, as per, The eligibility criteria for B.Tech Mechanical Engineering at LPU is: Pass with 60% aggregate marks in Diploma (Engg.) (any stream) 3 years after 10th or 2 yrs. after 10+2 (Non-Medical) or B.Sc. (Non-Medical) or B.Sc. (Computer Science) or equivalent.So, if you have 60% and above in diploma, you can very well take admission into B.Tech.B.Tech Mechanical.

There is no age limit for study. You can study any program at any age. In case of a gap, you have to submit an affidavit stating the reasons for the gap. Also, you need to fulfill the eligibility conditions. Pass with 60% aggregate marks in Diploma (Engg.) (any stream) 3 years after 10th Or 2 years after 10+2 (Non-Medical) Or B.Sc. (Non-Medical) Or B.Sc. (Computer Science) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST. The LPU offers a B Tech in Mechanical Engineering which seamlessly articulates the concepts from basic science to technology with relevant practice through lab and projects for building the problem-solving skills, keeping industry requirements in place for Design, Manufacturing, Thermal, etc specialization. For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium. (5% relaxation to North-East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmiri Migrants) The course aims at enabling the student to Effectively build and communicate the solutions using learnings from basic mechanical engineering, basic sciences, mathematics, and computational skills and tools. He should have the ability to design using Design of Machine Elements theories and to create prototypes using relevant manufacturing technology. He should acquire the Capability of building efficient energy conversion systems using a basic understanding of Thermodynamics, Heat transfer, and Fluid Mechanics.
