    The NIOS is the board of education under the Union Government of India. It was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India in 1989 to provide education to all segments of society with the motive to increase literacy and aimed forward for flexible learning. The NIOS is a national board that administers examinations for Secondary and Senior Secondary examinations similar to the CBSE and the CISCE. The National Institute of Open Schooling offers vocational courses after high school. Admissions Process:

    From the year 2010-11, NIOS has introduced 100% On-line admission in order to facilitate learners in registering themselves with it. Off-line admission quota has been dispensed with. Under this scheme learners have the options to
    register themselves One-line directly
    may visit their the nearest AI (study centre)/Facilitation Centre and take their help for On-line registration. May visit their Regional Centre for on line-registration.
