    A student's comprehension and analysis of written content, along with their command of language and grammar, are evaluated in the SAT Reading & Writing portion. It is separated into two smaller sections: Language and Reading and Writing. Texts from literature, historical records, the social sciences, and the natural sciences make up the reading section. The questions that students must respond to assess their comprehension of the passage's meaning, tone, structure, and the author's use of language and evidence.
