What is the scope of naval architecture course?

Hi, Like any other job depends on its industry, so is the condition with shipbuilding/shipping/offshore industry. Naval Architects may work at shipyards or, alternatively, may be employed by shipping companies, classification societies, consultancies, or research institutes. Naval Architects also work in offshore companies or firms that manufacture maritime equipment, e.g. life-saving appliances or ship engines. Like any other field, CTC varies with the location and the kind of job. In India the range varies from 25000 - 50000 INR per month. As compared to other countries India does not offer promising industry for naval architects. Even not a lot of colleges offer this course which makes the scope very now in India. In abroad depending on your field, it varies from 12 - 40 lakh INR per annum. Offshore field normally comes up with a hefty packages compared to the shipbuilding. But, nowadays due to oil price slide, there are very few offers in offshore field for freshers. Colleges that you can look at: US: University of Michigan, Texas A&M and University of New Orleans. India: IIT Kharagpur and Madras, Cochin University, Indian Maritime University Singapore: National University of Singapore, Newcastle University, Nanyang Technical University U.K: Newcastle University, University College of London, University of Strathclyde, University of Glasgow Other universities in Europe: Norwegian University of Science and Technology,KTH Royal Institute of Technology,Chalmers University, University of Nantes, Denmark Technical University, Rostock University.
