What is the syllabus and exam pattern of IIFT?

IIFT (Indian Institute of Foreign Trade) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBA (International Business) programs offered by IIFT Delhi, Kolkata, and Kakinada. The syllabus and exam pattern for IIFT are as follows: Syllabus: The IIFT exam tests the candidate's aptitude in the following areas: English Language General Knowledge and Current Affairs Quantitative Analysis Logical Reasoning Exam Pattern: The IIFT exam is a computer-based test. The duration of the exam is 120 minutes (2 hours). The exam consists of 110 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The questions are from four different sections, namely English Language, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Quantitative Analysis, and Logical Reasoning. Each correct answer carries one mark, and there is a negative marking of 0.33 marks for incorrect answers. The total marks for the exam are 100. The detailed section-wise exam pattern is as follows: Section 1: English Language This section tests the candidate's English language skills. It consists of 35 MCQs. The section tests the candidate's understanding of topics such as Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, etc. Section 2: General Knowledge and Current Affairs This section tests the candidate's knowledge of current events and general knowledge. It consists of 25 MCQs. The section tests the candidate's understanding of topics such as Business, Economics, Politics, International Affairs, etc. Section 3: Quantitative Analysis This section tests the candidate's quantitative aptitude. It consists of 30 MCQs. The section tests the candidate's knowledge of topics such as Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, etc. Section 4: Logical Reasoning This section tests the candidate's analytical and logical reasoning abilities. It consists of 20 MCQs. The section tests the candidate's knowledge of topics such as Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, Analogy, etc. In addition to the computer-based test, candidates who qualify in the written test are also required to appear for a Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).

Major topics covered in Quantitative Analysis section are Probability, Integers, Time, distance, speed/Time & work, Percentage, Other Arithmetic questions, Algebra, Mensuration, Log theory, Geometry, Permutation combination. English comprehension includes topics One-word substitution, Fill in the blanks, Jumbled sentences, Analogy, Phrasal explanation, Grammatically correct or incorrect sentences, Figures of speech, Spelling correction, Antonyms, Active-Passive, Reading comprehension passages. Logical reasoning section questions are based on blood relations, seating arrangements, series, analogy, sets. Statements, arguments, conclusions are a few important topics. Data Interpretation section includes questions on Tables, Graphical Representations, Charts and any diagrammatical Representation, etc.

The admission test for admission in MBA International Business at IIFT is a multiple choice objective type written test (in English) of 120 minutes. It generally consists of questions covering English Grammar, Vocabulary and Comprehension, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation and Quantitative Analysis. IIFT section wise syllabus for 2018:- 1. Logical Ability: According to the IIFT 2018 syllabus, this section is likely to contain 20-25 objective questions. Logical ability section is likely to be difficult considering the previous year's record. 2. Verbal Ability: Under this section of the IIFT syllabus 2018, candidates may have to answer nearly 20 questions. The difficulty level may vary from easy to moderate. 3. Quantitative Ability: The Quantitative Ability part is said to be difficult for candidates. Here candidates can expect to answer over 25 questions. 4. General Awareness: As per the IIFT syllabus 2018, general awareness part may have questions from a various topic and the difficulty level of the same can vary from moderate to tough. It is considered to be an essential part of the IIFT 2018 entrance exam. Candidates may have to answer about 10-25 of the objective questions.
