    The weights given to the various assessment components on the NIFT 2025 entrance exam vary depending on the program. The evaluation process for applicants to the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) program consists of three main components: the Situation Test, which has a 20% weight and evaluates practical skills in handling materials to create a three-dimensional model based on a given situation; the General Ability Test (GAT), which has a 30% weight and focusses on quantitative, analytical, and general knowledge; and the Creative Ability Test (CAT), which has a 50% weight and evaluates design skills and creativity.   • The NIFT will be a multi-stage exam. For instance, for admission to the B. Des programme, the candidate has to first appear in the written exams GAT and CAT; if shortlisted, the candidate has to next appear in a Situation Test. 

    M.Des candidates, on the other hand, who get shortlisted (based on GAT and CAT scores) have to appear in a Personal Interview (instead of the Situation Test). 

    Note that the final result of NIFT 2025 will be prepared by giving weightage to each test component.
