A Masters in Business Administration (MBA) is a degree course offered by the colleges affiliated to the universities while the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is a diploma course offered by the institutes that are recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
But that doesn't mean that PGDM has less value than MBA
IIM also provide PGDM.

MBA has an old curriculum whereas PGDM keeps changing with time, and PGDM are equivalent to MBA if the college has AIU certificate

Both are different courses. MBA is affiliated by Bangalore university while PGDM is affiliated by AIMS Delhi. So both are good and both have their own value.

Technically there is not much difference in programme structure of PGDM and MBA. PGDM is equivalent to MBA. The difference between the two is PGDM is offered by AICTE approved colleges and MBA can be offered only by universities approved by UGC. The companies do not differentiate between the two so go for anyone but make sure you choose a college with a good brand name and good industry interface

Opt for PGDM if you are getting admission in a good (brand) college, or else MBA/MMS is the right option.
The difference is:
PGDM VS MBA:
MBA programs basically focus on developing managerial skills, techniques, strategies into students whereas PGDM programs with its innovative approach highlights on development of leadership and entrepreneurship qualities along with imparting managerial and executive skills. The curriculum of MBA course is more inclined towards offering theoretical knowledge while PGDM programs offer students with greater industrial exposure.
