Hi, The placement opportunities are not very adequate to fulfill the needs of the students at large. Due to the density of population and competitive environment, the Colleges affiliated to the university are unable to provide better placement opportunities.

University of Mumbai has a wide geographical spread and with a very high density of population, there are many colleges offering law courses culminating in the degree being conferred by Mumbai University. Now, we have a choice of taking a very narrow view that placements by the only Dept of Law or law school of the university is to be taken into account, then we would be excluding perhaps more than 90% of students population. The university is expected to govern and issue policy guidelines to different colleges, it is expected to monitor and modify syllabus of different courses it had authorised. If the placement by university's dept.

    Hi there,
Well, you can't really swear for any placement opportunity at any university level when it's a traditional one. However, University of Mumbai has quite notable alumnis such as Cyril Shroff.
But, the placements depend on the college you choose. If the degree is taken from the university itself, then I fear that you don't have any placement opportunity as such because none of the traditional universities have any placement cell as such. However, University of Mumbai affiliated colleges of law may get you better placement opportunities.
However, you can rely on the value of the degree from the university as it has a good reputation

Even though Mumbai University is among the best universities of the country it failed to provide quality placements to its student of law course. Students have to struggle a lot to get internships in the top tier firms or in-house companies. Exceptional students get the job by interning through contacts but most of the people prefer litigation while some remain unemployed. The helping hand of college is not much encouraging when compared to NLU counterparts. I think the best thing about students of University of Mumbai is that you can intern with some amazing lawyers in Mumbai high court and Supreme Court. You can also try for CLAT for

    Hi,
Mumbai University is one among the most reputed and oldest institutions in the country. Although being such an old institution, it does not have placement opportunities for students. The placements also differ from college to college. While colleges like GLC have great placement opportunities for students, others do not have such opportunities. Although the college may not have placement opportunities for students, they can secure internships and placements through their personal endeavors. Further, having the place advantage, the students can work with several lawyers in the Bombay High Court or Law firms. It is after such internsh

    Hi,
As per my knowledge there is no specific placement cell for the department of law in Mumbai University.
But the faculty at department of law helps students in getting good career opportunities wherever the students desire to apply. Also, if any law graduate applies directly to any law firm, corporate company or LPO or at any office of a lawyer, he can easily get to the Department of Law. Mumbai University is a very well recognized legal institution and the career opportunities to a graduate of law from this institution are also good.
