Dear Venkatesh, A lot of students get confused while choosing between BBA and B.Com (Hons). Let me give you some insights to help you get clarity, While the BBA course has a blend of papers from varied areas such as management, economics, marketing, human resources, finance & accounting, operations, international business, entrepreneurship, the B.Com (Hons) course delves deep into the world of finance and accounting with specific papers in Strategic Cost Control, Income Tax Law and Practice etc. to get you ready to face the industry. If you plan to also complete Chartered Accountancy, B.Com (Hons) course is usually the better choice. Further, after a B.Com (Hons) course you can pursue an M.Com or look at international accounting certifications to better carve and strengthen your career. After BBA, you can choose to get into the corporate world or go for an MBA since you would have an understanding over a diverse range of disciplines to help you decide your interest (business development, HR, Sales & Marketing, Finance & Accounting, Research Analyst etc. ). Of course, the option of starting your own entrepreneurial venture stays common for careers after both courses. At IILM University, both BBA and B.Com (Hons) programs are aligned to IILM University's ethos of giving the students freedom of choice whereby they can pick up disciplines from multiple verticals. This in-process helps them specialise in two areas of their choice (major and minor) adding to their employability quotient and making them capable to handle any challenges they face during their careers (www.iilm.edu.in). Students must check out the curriculum, faculty, industry connect opportunities at their chosen universities as this will help get them closer to achieving heights in their career as a theoretical as well as practical understanding of the concepts and make you industry-ready. Hope this helps!

The Bachelor of Commerce is designed to enhance the ability to learn as the students study variety of subjects: accountancy, business administration, finance, economics and industrial policies. This course equips one with the analytical, communication and problem-solving skills to effectively identify issues, source information and to find efficient and practical solutions. After B.Com the students can avail exciting and diverse post graduate opportunities like MBA, law, international studies, designing/merchandising, MBE, M.Com finance, economics, etc. Which will set them apart from the crowd and prepare them for success in the global marketplace. The industry takes them at par with the students having professional degree like BBA hotel management, etc. And sometimes at higher platform if someone is from reputed college. All most all universities and colleges in India offer B.Com degree, therefore, chances of getting into the course is higher. Bachelor of Business Administration, on the other hand, is a professional course, and it is offered by a few universities and of these, only a handful of colleges / institutes offer quality course. Choosing the right institute is key to landing up in a good job. The BBA course is tailored in consultation with representatives from leading organisations, ensuring that you graduate with an industry-relevant degree. Students get practical experience, read assigned materials, attend seminars, and prepare an internship report. Students are encouraged to attend leadership training workshops and conferences; including, but not limited to, public speaking, group dynamics, and problem solving, and evaluating techniques. These skills not only help to fetch a good job, but also, the students remain at an edge over others while studying MBA. However, all this happens only when the students get into a reputed college. After BBA the students can get into marketing, human resource, general management, finance, etc. But the most pertinent question is to do these courses from only the colleges of the country like SRCC, RAMJAS, Xaviers, SD College Chandigarh, LPU, Symbiosis etc. Hope this helps DVD.
