What should I do among CS and corporate law?

Corporate Law is quite different from the Company Secretary but can always bring in value to ones profile. Both the fields offers bright career opportunities but requires a lot of dedication and Hard work, so if you plan to pursue the two courses then this would require perfection in managing the two courses simultaneously. There are very few institutes in India offering Corporate Law, which is a sub domain of a broader Law discipline I.e. Company Law. Institutes like Indian Law institute, NALSAR University, Acharya Nagarjuna University and a few others offer Corporate law courses. There are very few institutes in India offering Corporate Law in LL. M. You can do LL. M. 1 year programme which useful in research institutes, thinktanks and NGOs working on policy issues as well. Considering that a large number of law schools in India now pay quite well, this is significant. Similarly, requirement of lawyers are thinktanks, NGOs and research bodies have drastically increased over the last few years. These are great career opportunities. LL. M. in commonly offered in Criminal law, Constitutional law, Cyber law, International law, etc. There are multiple universities from where you can do 1-year LL. M. Like IILM University Gurugram offers with Moot Court Internship, Seminar, Workshops, Experiential Learning along with Inter-Disciplinary Curriculum. IILM University Gurugram conducts interviews of prospective students. The admission is decided mainly on the credential and merits of the prospective students. Dear Ayushi, Both the courses are good. Any public company having a paid up share capital of 10cr or more has to appoint a full time company secretary. The course covers all the aspects of managing a company efficiently. However, Corporate Law, also referred to a corporation law and company law is a specialisation offered to the students studying their law course. The corporate lawyer is an important person to an organization, conducting all business activities in a legal way. The corporate lawyer or attorney can be hired by an organization or he can provide his service to one or more organizations. The corporate lawyer provides assistance to the companies or business firms relating to employees contracts, taxation related issues in an organization, employee relations, labour and employment law etc. If you are interested in this field, then you must pass your class 12thor senior secondary examination with an aggregate of 45% from a recognized board or university. After fulfilling the above eligibility criteria you can appear for the CLAT exam (common law admission test), conducted for the admission to the top government and private colleges in India.
