Great to see that your enthusiasm for MBA excellence at this age but yes you certainly need to go for a graduation programme before you can actually be eligible to appear for your CAT exam. But, it does not mean that you cannot begin with preparations for your dream to succeed, many students nowadays are properly planning their career ahead and begin to work hard for it from the early stages itself which toughens the competition among all. Hence you can always begin with self-studying or joining an institution that offers a CAT preparation course like the Bullseye, etc.
You can begin to lay your basic grip on the aptitude concepts like

Typically, most candidates would plan the following steps in their MBA preparation:
Learn core concepts in numeric & verbal ability. Practice sample questions. Attempt mock test. Work on weaker areas.
  • If you are a 12th pass and planning to appear for the CAT (Common Admission Test) for MBA (Master of Business Administration) admission to Iims or other prestigious B-schools in India, then you have to start your preparation early and develop a structured study plan. Here are some tips for CAT preparation:
Understand the exam pattern: Start by understanding the exam pattern, which includes three sections - Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension VARC Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning DILR and Quantitative Aptitude (QA). Familiarize yourself with the exam pattern and the type of questions asked in each section. Choose the right

First of all, you should take admission in any of the graduation college and you need to clear it with 50 percentile, and while you are there in your graduation, you can prepare for the CAT exam and you must score really good score in CAT exam to clear the cutoffs, which is nearly 97 percentile -98 percentile, so do prepare well.

You do not have to prepare so early on. Get into you graduation and study well. At your end of 2nd year (or 3rd year if you are an engineer) of graduation look for a coaching institute and join it. Prepare as they guide you.

You still have time because you can do MBA only after graduation so you can start preparing after the 1st-year of college so you get a bit of basic idea and also you can do a lot other short-term courses till then. You should preferably join some classes and solve as many tests as possible as that helps increase your speed. Also, decide which specialization you want to choose because based on your specialization you can decide on the college which provides it the best.

First, concentrate on completion of your graduation. Try to score more than 50% marks at graduation level. During your final year of graduation, start preparing for CAT if required. Also, join an institute for coaching and attempt as much as possible mock practice tests. Air for more than 99 percentile and you can brighten your chances of getting a call from IIM.
  • Always good to start your preparation early. So first get a graduation degree and make a good profile in terms of academic and non academic achievements. Also remain on the look out for good projects to associate with. Finally in your pre-final year you should start preparing on the pattern of CAT.
