In order to take admission in your desired programme, you need to meet the eligibility norms. On inquiring for one of my friend from the counsellors of LPU I came to know that those who have 60% in 10+2 with (English, Physics & Mathematics ) will have to appear in LPU NEST whereas those who have scored 90% in +2 or scored 90 percentile in JEE Mains are exempted from LPU NEST. University is taking Remotely Online proctored test from home considering the scenario of COVID-19.
LPU NEST serves two purposes I. e eligibility and scholarship.

For B.tech. ECE lateral entry programme, the eligibility is Pass with 50% aggregate marks in ITI (in Technical field) 1 year/ 2 years Certificate course or 2 years Diploma from SLIET or 10+2 Vocational (in Technical field) or 10+2 (Non-Medical) or equivalent from any recognized Board/ Council.
There is no entrance exam for this. In the situation of Covid-19, lpu has relaxed it's eligibility.
In case you wish to appear the exam for scholarship purpose, you can do that simultaneously with the admission proceedings.

Due to the current situation i.e. COVID-19, the eligibility criteria is a bit relaxed. The eligibility for B.Tech (ECE)[Lateral Entry ] is Pass with 60% in Diploma (Engg.) (any stream) (3yrs. after 10th or 2 yrs after 10+2(Non-Medical)) or B.Sc (Non-medical)/ B.Sc(Computer Science) or equivalent. So, test i.e. LPUNEST is not mandatory but you can give it for the scholarship. LPU also offers different scholarship slabs on tuition fees per semester.
