Dear Giri, Both B.Tech in Mechanical and Automobile engineering are good for career prospects. You have to make sure that from which university or institute you are pursuing the degree. The following are the best institutes for these programmes:
    IITs/NITs
    Delhi Technological University
    Lovely Professional University
    Anna University
    Amrita University
    SASTRA University
My friend did B.Tech and M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from LPU and got placed in an MNC. The highest package offered for the programme at LPU is INR 31 LPA. For more details, I recommend you to refer to the website of the university
    I hope this helps
    Thanks!

Your question asks about the specific subject of M.Tech that one should choose. This depends entirely on your interest, your long term goal and what kind of work you want to do. Third part is not very much in your control but should be considered. After B.Tech in mechanical engineering, you can do M.Tech in :

    Thermal Engineering
    Energy Systems

    Petroleum Engineering
    CAD-CAM, Manufacturing
