The Public Sector has more opportunities for Ece students than Cse/IT but there is a huge competition for government jobs for ece graduates so prepare well for these type of examinations to get your dream job in public sector. Public sectors jobs can be divided into 3 types.
A)PSU’s
These are public sector companies that either take applications based on GATE score and interview or hold their own exams and interview.
B) IES:
Indian Engineering Services are considered the most prestigious job profile for Engineers in India, equivalent to what IAS are in administration or IPS in Police. The selection is through Engineering Services Examination (ESE) which is among the most competitive exams in India. By writing Engineering Service Examination (ESE) Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) students or graduates get following jobs.
(i) Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers.
(ii) Indian Railway Stores Service (Telecommunication/ Electronics Engineering Posts).
(iii) Indian Naval Armament Service (Electronics Engineering Posts).
(iv) Assistant Executive Engineer Group ‘A’ (Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Posts) in the Corps of E.M.E., Ministry of Defence

C) Research Institutions:
There are three major public research centres in India which run under the three wings of Government of India they are Dept of Space (DOS), Dept of Defense (DoD) & Dept of Atomic Energy (DAE), there are
