    One language proficiency is required. One need not acquire fluency in a certain number of tongues. Pick up new programming languages as needs arise. Don't just learn them to say you did. To do so would be a waste of your time. Choose among PHP, Java, Python, or Ruby if you need to create applications for the web. Java/Kotlin and Swift are two options to consider if you need to create a mobile app. C+ and C# are good options if you need to create games. Python and R are great options if you need to build code for data Science and machine learning. C, Python, and Java are all good options to use for developing applications for the Intern

    The most important languages are C and C+ and then you can proceed to Python and Javascript.

    Allthough, this is age of Object Oriented Programming language (OOPs), In oder to be a good programmer, you must first learn any Procedural language such as C, Pascal etc and learn OOPs such as C+, C# or Java. Once you master one of OOPs language you can learn any software programming language. In addition you must master Data Structure concepts and one of the Relational Database Management System like Oracle, DB2 etc. These are minimum skills required to succeed as a Software Engineer.
