As for JEE, it includes at least one problem from every chapter in the NCERT syllabus. As for important topics, there is no such thing. All topics in your book are equally important.
That being said, I would cite some examples. At the beginning of class 11, Mechanics hit full gear in Physics. You would find all study materials rife with rotational dynamics problems. If you go to school or coaching classes, students are breaking sweat over moving pulley problems. Typically it takes about 7-8 months of thorough preparation to complete Mechanics from HC Verma, Resnick-Halliday, Irodov, RSM or some other study material. Now, go and check th

JEE is one of the tough exams in India so result varies from student to student:-
    1. Many want to be top in the exam
    2. Many want to score decent marks
    3. Just cross the cutoff marks
For the first category student, you need to study all the syllabus in the proper manner so that you can be top in JEE exam.
For the second category student who wants to score decent marks and want to get into atleast NIT college then, in that case, don't leave topics like:-
Chemical Bonding, Atom, State of matter, Thermodynamics, Hydrogen, S&P Block elements, D block elements, Solid State, Solution, Chemical Kinetics, Alkane, Alcohol & Ketone Biomolecul

    Hi,
There are some topics which are the most important and scoring topics. A firm command over these topics will surely boost your rank. Physics :
Kinematics Very simple questions are asked. If you keep the definitions in mind, then all questions will be easy
Newtons laws of motion Knowing how to draw a free body diagram will greatly help in solving almost all problems of this chapter
Simple harmonic motion Energy conservation method will be useful in finding time period in even the most complicated cases of SHM
First law of thermodynamics Knowing the statement of energy conservation will help you to solve a number of numericals and the

The chapters for JEE are stated in a subsiding priority order, which means the ones at the top have the top priority and priority level reduces as you go through the list.
    1. Physics: Physics needs you to have a robust hold on concepts. Once the concepts have been grasped, they are very easy to retain. Some chapters for JEE from physics have a substantial weightage in the exams.
    2. Mechanics: Mechanics is perhaps the most significant topic any engineer should know. This always makes it the most vital part of the paper. Indeed, the majority of questions in JEE are either directly mechanics questions or need you to have substantial skill

In physics and chemistry, it is very important for JEE exam. There are more confusing questions from these subjects, so these subjects should be concentrated more.

I read an article on Topper which was about how you should prioritize the chapters you study. So here it is:
    Physics:
Physics requires you to have a strong hold on concepts. Once the concepts have been mastered, they are very easy to retain. Some chapters for JEE from physics have a heavy weightage in the exams. Here’s the priority sequence you can follow chapter-wise:
    Mechanics
    Electricity and magnetism
    Thermal physics
    Fluids and waves and sound
    Potentiometer-related experiments
    Optics
    Modern physics
    Chemistry:
One must understand that it’s very important to read as much as possible in order to learn chemistry. Also, revision is cruc

If you want to crack JEE with flying colors then you must have to focus on the whole syllabus. However, if your goal is to crack JEE and rank doesn't matter much then you have to focus on few topics. Some topics are important but difficult to understand. Rotational dynamics is one of them. I think important means easy as well as scoring.
Let me tell you some subject wise important topics:
1- Maths: Algebra, coordinate geometry, vector, and 3-D, probability calculus, etc.
2.Physics: Optics, current, and electricity, simple harmonic motion, kinematics, etc
3.(a) Organic chemistry: Whole NCERT is enough but you should not skip any topic of NC

    Hi there,
Well there is nothing like more or less important topics in JEE,however some of the insights of the topics are.
For maths- calculus, coordinate, matrices and determinant, vector & 3d,probability.
Organic- revise ncert thoroughly. I think none of the organic part should be skipped.
Inorganic - p,d,f blocks and chemical bonding.
Physical -kinetics, thermodynamics and equilibrium (ionic equilibrium is must) small chapters like solid state, mole concept and solutions can fetch you good marks.
Physics- modern physics, shm, waves, electrostatics and current & optics.
    Hope it helps.
