Which college is best for fashion design: LPU, IIFT, AIFD or INIFD?

<p>Hello there, </p><p>If you're choosing between LPU, IIFT, AIFD, and INIFD for fashion design, then honestly, LPU has some major advantages that are hard to ignore. At LPU, the fashion design programme is not just about sketching and stitching—it's a complete blend of creativity and industry readiness. What I really like is how LPU mixes hands-on experience with industry exposure. The university has ultra-modern labs, design studios, garment construction workshops, and even live fashion shows where students can showcase their work.</p><p>While INIFD and AIFD are well-known for fashion design, they are more niche and lack the diversity and infrastructure you'd find at a large university like LPU. IIFT has a decent name but mostly focuses on short-term courses. LPU, on the other hand, offers a full degree with opportunities for internships, tie-ups with brands, international exposure, and placement support in fashion houses and retail giants. She got Intensive exposure to practical work in Patternmaking, Draping, Weaving, Printing, Dyeing, and Garment Construction labs.

My cousin sister is pursuing B. Design (Fashion) from LPU itself. She has discussed few points with me about her course:- She told me Study tours are an integral part of curriculum with visitation of architectural and prominent sites provides maximum exposure to learn technicalities of architecture. She said. Fashion designing is a branch having a lot of scope and in LPU, they give a lot of exposure to students, through guest lectures from industry top shots, various in campus and out campus fashion shows, and also they have their own store where the studentscreations are showcased and sold. The school provides a platform for students to experiment with creative designs, patterns, fabrics and colors. Live with fashion events, visits by renowned national and international fashion designers, innovation and creativity is fostered in the students at every step. They are encouraged to experiment with different materials to create conceptual wear and accessories. Also Students are exposed to fashion shows, craft fairs, industry internships and craft documentation. They get intensive exposure to practical work in Pattern making, Draping, Weaving, Printing, Dyeing, Garment Construction labs. Students are given various Live-projects during the course of the programme to create commercially viable designs. School of Design organized Face Painting and nail painting competition for students to showcase their creative talents. She has attended workshop on "Fashion styling" by Anuj Lalawani (Renowned Designer & Stylist) where students got training in different creative endeavors like body fit, make up, dressing and grooming. She went to educational tours to complement in-class learning. Students visit various monumental buildings and industries across India such as marble industries, tile industries, Thermax industry, Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors etc. LPU students have been placed in well reputed national as well as international clothing brand like H & M, acquiring 14 Lacs + per annum pay package. Genesis, a premium brand under Reliance Retail selected 6 students at an average pay package of 4 lac Per annum.

INIFD offers certification programs in fashion design, FTTI offers PGD and PG certification programs related to film and TV. While AIFD is army design institute and offers UG and PG programs in fashion design. Further, LPU also offers UG and PG courses in fashion design. AIFD is the best in terms of infrastructure, faculty members and placement.

Hi, LPU is a good choice to go for. The salient features of this course (B. Design (Fashion) B.Sc. (Fashion) includes:-Availability of international forecast WGSN for trend forecasting. The latest machinery &amp; soft wares to keep students at the cutting edge of technology. The various programs of the dept. Are supported by materials like books of various international publishers, state of the art labs and design studios. The emphasis is on self-motivated learning by using creativity, exploring techniques &amp; innovating new applications in fashion. In B. Design (Fashion) the students are provided with an opportunity to showcase their design collection through an Annual Graduating Fashion show. These programs aim at educating the students on all facets that make up this growing industry, through workshops/ seminars, market research, Industry visits &amp; craft documentation. School of Design provides international exposure opportunities like international study trip, exchange programme, summer/research studies. Students get a chance to attend fashion weeks by FDCI where they get to work backstage with eminent designers and deal with buyers and several clients attending the show. In addition to the regular course work, design workshops are undertaken to inlay upon students an effective understanding of materials such as thermo Cole, paper, wood and clay to be used in creation of lifestyle products as well as functional art-pieces.
