B.Sc Agriculture is a degree course in the field of agriculture and its applications. Agricultural Science also has disciplines such as agronomy, horticulture, plant pathology, entomology, soil Science, food technology, agricultural economics, home Science, fisheries, forestry, and veterinary Science. Keeping in sink with the concept I found LPU course curriculum very employable. It believes in building expertise through well planned on-field implementation and testing of basic concepts in production, yield enhancement disease resistant and better shelf life of food and flora. Creating professionals to tackle the dogma from seed to stomach. It runs B.Sc. (Hons. ) Agriculture Programme ie for 4 years. LPU is a first private University having ICAR accreditation. ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) co-ordinates agricultural education and research in the country under the aegis of Ministry of Agriculture (government. of India). LPU School of Agriculture has been granted accreditation by the National Agricultural Education Board of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, making it the first and only private University in the country to receive the accreditation. LPU got this accreditation last year (2018). All the courses that run at undergraduate and post graduate level are all accredited by ICAR. It counts B.Sc (Hons. ) Agriculture, M.Sc Ag. Being an alumni of LPU I would rather say that the school of Agriculture in Lovely Professional University is among the best place for pursuing the B.Sc. In agriculture. Now you would be saying why I am saying like that, actually my cousin has completed his degree from here only. The most significant thing which should be emphasized is that LPU is the first private university which has been approved by ICAR. I along with my cousins had visited the fields, labs. In order to infuse understanding on emerging problems and technologies involved in agriculture field visits are conducted to neighboring farms, orchards and nurseries. Not only subject related education is imparted but also the professional enhancement is added by the university through the different courses like soft skills and communication skills. Major Highlights of the programme that I would be highlighting over here are as follows: a)The course would impart knowledge and understanding of fundamental concepts and techniques of maintaining and enhancing soil fertility, crop production, crop management, crop improvement, biodiversity and sustainability of agriculture worldwide. B)The course would develop the ability to know farming practices and their scope to improve in the rural areas and the environments. C)It would help in applying the knowledge of basic Science through Agricultural microbiology, Plant biochemistry and Biotechnology. D)It will focus on application of knowledge of Agri-business management and finance to develop profitable agricultural system. LPU students have got top packages from leading Agriculture companies. LPU Becomes the First Private University to be Granted ICAR Accreditation. In addition to the regular course work, especially designed practical courses like Hands on training, Practical crop production, Rural and Agriculture Work Experience (RAWE), Nursery raising for horticulture crops, Crop And SEED Identification Laboratory, Soil And Water Sampling And Analysis, Soil Description And Interpretation Discipline Highlights: Agriculture laboratory, Organic And Chemical Fertilizer, Manure Identification And Application Laboratory, Introductory Nematology, Disease Of Horticultural Crops And Their Management, Practical Floriculture And Vegetable Crop Production Laboratory, Bio-Safety Rules And Intellectual Property Rights are offered to promote practical implication of various courses which train students for industry. Students are exposed to Commercial farms (100 acres) to know-how that create an opportunity for students to engage and tone up their endurance, confidence and management skills.
