All the engineering fields have lot of scope and have equal job opportunities. If you like software development, coding, testing, hardware processing then you can go for CSE or if you have interest in mechanical then go for mechanical engineering. The main deciding factor should always be your area of interest. I will suggest you to go through the syllabus well in advance and choose as per your area of interest. I think it's your engineering college which plays an important role in job placements. Hello,
Everything depends on you. You have to choose that field in which you want to make your career. You can do even better in that field in which you have an interest Because it is not only about salary, it is about your interest. You will find many scope in your interested field and you can be innovative in that particular field. But if you are aiming to get only a good salary then you can choose petroleum engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, aerospace engineering or chemical engineering. These branches can provide you with the highest paid engineering jobs.

    Hello,
India is a developing country. So, there is nothing like one branch will dominate the other one. Every branch has its own significance. There is no mechanical device which is in use without the application of electrical energy, in some or other form. Directly or indirectly all the branches are inter-linked. This is the answer, in my point of view, for the options which you gave (civil, mechanical, electrical).

Mechanical Engineering is called an evergreen branch considering its placement potentials. Streams in demand include Electronics and Communication, Instrumentation, Electrical and Electronics, Computer Science and Engineering and so on. Besides, there are new generation streams such as Information Technology, Avionics, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automobile Engineering, Robotics and so on. Considering the trends in the growth of the industry, electronics and computer science streams are predicted to have good prospects in future.
    Let's hope for the best.

From the monetary point of view: CS and civil. You can pursue any of the two from IITs, top NITs, BITS, Pilani or RV College.

The difference is when you don't study sincerely and blame the stream. If you choose the stream based on your interest, then you need to work hard as your destiny is not far away.
    I hope it helps.
