As per the current job market surveys, job opportunities are as follows in order of precedence: CSE, software engineering, IT and mechanical engineering. -
You can consider:
1. Petroleum engineering.
2. Chemical engineering.
3. Agricultural engineering.
4. Mining engineering.
5. Plastic engineering. -
The demand in the market for CSE is more than the other two branches.

Mechanical Engineering is called an evergreen branch considering its placement potentials. Streams in demand include Electronics and Communication, Instrumentation, Electrical and Electronics, Computer Science and Engineering and so on. Besides, there are new generation streams such as Information Technology, Avionics, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automobile Engineering, Robotics and so on. Considering the trends in the growth of the industry, electronics and computer science streams are predicted to have good prospects in future.

5 years agoOf course, it is computer science and information technology as IT sector has more jobs as well as they never gonna stop. -
Both of these sectors are equally important! CSE branch gives exposure to the students regarding the current needs in the IT sector while Mech gives exposure towards the core sector, Either you wish to switch to research or Ph.D. or you want to build your own model of F1 and go for any Leading company such as L&T, Audi, etc. -
Decreasing order is as: CSE, IT, SOFTWARE, MECHANICAL. But, nowadays, software is not as good as was before 3 years. So, I suggest you not to choose software or mechanical. Better to choose CSE or IT. -
You can have a good future in field of IT or software. IT, software and CS are inter related. If you do CS then, you will have a good knowledge on Java, C+ and Oracle. You will catch it in a short period. If have a grip on this, then you will definitely be a software developer in IT sector. -
Engineering itself is a highly pronounced technical field, which is divided into various other fields. Two such fields are computer science engineering and mechanical engineering.
When it comes to the software world, computer science engineering rules and when it comes to the core world, you can rely on mechanical engineering.
If you are interested in computer applied field, you can go for computer science and if working with engines and modelling suits you the best, then you must opt for mechanical.
