Engineering/Computer Science Engineering or RAT RACE!!!!? so that you get a software job!? go onsite, earn/save lot of money, come back to India, get married, life is settled and successful!! Is it? That's everyone is doing and most of them are not very happy at the end.
As someone said previously.Remember 3 idiots! follow your interests. You should make career in the field of your interests.
Ask yourself, What is that one thing you enjoyed the most till your 12th std., which you would like to do for rest of your life? If you have never thought about it, think now!!! keep figuring out until you find answer. This is the time when you nee

Ah! Why always engineering? After getting that marks, if the student is still in love with science, he/she must go only for BSc course in the subject which is comparatively a strong subject for him/her.

First, every engineering field has same level of difficulty. You are eligible for every engineering course, but the chances are less for getting a good college.
There are many courses, some of them are really different but cool and interesting. Fields like Audio Engineering, Electronics and media technology engineering, electronics and communication engineering etc.
If you have seen 3 idiots, then just do what you love and what you are passionate about.

To make you understand this let me give you an example. You would have seen your classmates in 10th standard passing with 10cgpa 9cgpa or 6cgpa and now when they are passing 12th did all of them who got 10 or 9cgpa are getting 90%+ in 12th board or those with 6cgpa didn't get good marks in 12th. The answer is surely no. These marks don't tell you anything about how you will be doing in your future. These marks are reflection of how much you prepared and worked hard for 12th board last year. It's never too late for someone who wants to work hard and achieve something in his life. Just go for what you are interested in and you think you

I went through lot of answer and found many of them suggested some particular branches, however the suitability of engineering branches totally depends upon the nature, interest and skills of the students. So before choosing any branch you should analysis your interest in that subject. The related things to that branches for e.g. if you are interested in machine you should go for mechanical engineering, if you are interested in infrastructure you should go for civil engineering however if you are weak in mathematics and logic and have no basic knowledge of computer engineering than its hard to get a package which some geek actually get

Any course of engineering be it be electrical, mechanical, electronics or computer science is good at this percentage but IT SOLELY DEPENDS UPON YOUR INTEREST WHICH FIELD OF ENGINEERING YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SO FIND THE FIELD WHICH FASCINATES YOU THE MOST AND GO FOR IT.

see the first thing is don't compare ur board marks with engineering. the one who got 90% nd one who got 60% are on the same platform. the both will do btech.
Do ur best in engineering dats it. now for the courses it totally depend on u nd ur area of intrests . if u are good in computer (c++ or java) den go for cse or, if good in physics den go for mechanical, if good in mathematics den go for civil. it totally depends on u how u study in btech. don't think about what had happened. just give ur best shot.
    best of luck
