Usually both the sectors get better placements. And it also depends on the college or university you are pursuing your MBA or BBA. Marketing jobs are mostly Sales jobs, All most all the marketing jobs require you to perform sales for a while. After that you'll be assigned to different roles which they hired you for.

I think the choice of specialisation depends mainly on individual interest and personality . One can select the best specialisation as per their future traits and good networking skills. It totally depends on the candidate who is pursuing MBA .

In terms of pay, finance is good. But students are placed more in marketing as the requirement is quite high as compared to the finance.

MBA marketing gives a better placement as it include your sales aspects as well and it pays off pretty good. But one can't decide a company only on the basis of placements. Here in AIMK, we all have decided our specifications on the basis of our knowledge of that field and our subjects. We get good companies for finance as well.
